It could have been- ' Hey you could have asked me before making dinner.. I dont like it anymore duh!! And do you have any idea how much of fat it has..! I could clog my arteries with that fat!!! you dont care about others at all..'
Be it any living environment.. be it any human relation.. Has it ever been noticed that are ppl Quick to praise or are they quicker to criticze..? n when it comes to praising.. They keep it in mind.. but dont express it.. or they say it later that 'ya.. the speech that day you had given was nice..'..
Parents/Grand parents to children..Teacher to student.. boss to employee.. spouse to the better half.. friends amongst eachother.. Why is it that the points to criticize are noticed and highlighted first..
Is criticizing considered as the best way to improve someone..? Yes it is healthy indeed.. it guides and inspires the one who is criticzed to do things in a better way.. Often, during the course of our professional and personal lives, there come situations when we cannot help but point out mistakes. Criticisms are never welcome, but we can soften the blow with the following tips.
• Criticize in a friendly manner. Preferably allow a compliment to precede criticism.
• Respect the target of your criticism, always criticize privately in person..take care that even texts and phone conversations may create confusion..
• Criticize the act not the person.. 'You are a wonderful and talented artist..Have loved so many of your works..The latest creation needs a bit more of a touch up on the lady's face near the cheeks i suppose.. would make it much symmetrical.. what do you feel..?'..
It shouldnt be.. ' You have deteriorated with your potential to create good art work.. What has happened to you! you had made such nice paintings earlier.. How could you make the face look so distorted!'
• Offer a solution with the criticism, for instance while pinpointing a wrong also show what is right, so the communication remains positive and focused on the act rather than the person.
• Always end the criticism with a friendly note. A positive tone and body language is crucial to clear the air of any misunderstanding..
And last but not the least.. try finding positive and praise-able work of the person and encourage them saying.. 'you do that so well.. am sure you can do this well too...' ;)
Make sure the criticism doesnt hurt or depresses some one.. the criticism is for the betterment of others.. it should be in a way that it encourages not discourages..
